Greetings! I am Renato Sais, Winemaker at Maurice Car’rie Winery.

Proudly born in Sonora, Mexico and came to the United States August of 2009. In 2002-2004 I studied abroad in France and Angers for International Business. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Mexico majoring in International Business with a minor in economics. I also have a degree in Viticulture and Enology.

I began my career from 2005-2008 where I apprenticed at my family built winery in Mexico in the Valley of Guadalupe, Baja California. In 2009 I made the decision to follow my dream of learning more about the industry and came to the United Sates where I began working in Sonoma, CA as an Enologist for Windsor Oak Winery. In 2010 I decided to move closer to my roots of Southern California and established myself in the gorgeous city of Temecula.

In 2010 I worked as the Assistant Winemaker, as well as Vineyard Manager, at Danza Del Sol Winery where I spent the next 4 harvests. While assisting in winemaking at Danza Del Sol we were successful in achieving many awarded wines such as, 2011 and 2012 Gewurtzraminer winning a gold medal both years, and 2012 Chardonnay Reserve winning Best of Class. I would soon realize this was just the beginning in my love of making wine.

In 2014 my dream became reality in becoming the Winemaker here at Maurice Car’rie Winery; which I view as an anchor of the Temecula Valley Wine Country. Since my arrival, our focus has been to keep, and increase, the qualities of our wines. In the last 2 years we have been awarded with close to 100 medals in various competitions around the state of California. I am proud to continue this success and keep pleasing your palate.

Salud Y Gracias.
